Three Ohio Sisters Give Birth On Same Day With Same Doctor Within 5 Hours

Three sisters from Ohio just got another reason–or three, more like–to be close.

On July 3, siblings Ashley Haynes, 27, Daneesha Haynes, 25, and Ariel Williams, 20, all gave birth on the same day, in the same hospital, and with the same doctor.

According to Mansfield News, Dr. Edroy McMillan was the obstetrician for the three ladies, and it was he who induced their labor at the same time. Daneesha told the publication that “It was a blessing. It’s amazing. This kind of blew everybody away.”

She also told the news that there was a close friend of the family that jokingly wagered to buy lunch for the first girl who completed her birth. She claimed that she was in a race at that point. With a free lunch on the line, Deneesha was the first to have her water break.

Unfortunately for Daneesha, her younger sister Ariel beat her to the chase. She brought her daughter Serene into the world at 10:10 AM, and the little angel weighed eight pounds, two ounces. Ariel already has a daughter named Serenity, and she wanted to continue the naming conventions. Daneesha jokingly teased, “I didn’t win the lunch, and I was the hungriest!”

She also added that the various staff members in the hospital would often get the sisters confused with one another due to their similar appearances and last name. They would turn up for appointments before the delivery process, and the hospital would need to double-check to make sure they were tracking the dates of the right woman!

The eldest Haynes sister, Ashley, gave birth to a son named Adrion four days ahead of schedule at 11:26 AM. Adrion is Ashley’s fifth child, Unfortunately for Ashley, the epidural didn’t take for her since she was already two centimeters dilated and about to be in labor. Adrion was born six pounds, ten ounces.

Despite being told to expect her child almost a month later, Daneesha finally crossed the finish line when she gave birth to a girl, Emrie, at 2:43 PM, who weighed four pounds and fourteen ounces. Daneesha explained that she was a high-risk pregnancy, so the doctor made the call to induce her early. However, she also explained that smaller babies couldn’t handle the birthing process well, and the team was scared for the health of her children.

She was praying to God that she wouldn’t have to undergo a C-section. Thankfully, the baby was born safely, and after staying an extra day at the hospital, she would be discharged with her mother to go home. Though the smallest of the newborns, Daneesha is convinced that Emrie is going to outpace her relatives soon enough as they all start to grow.
