When a 3-year-old is woken up from his nap on the couch by his little sister, he shows the sweetest reaction ever!
The connection between two siblings is undeniable. Yes, the relationship changes as the children age, but ultimately, they are often one another’s first playmate and best friend. It’s a lifelong relationship that can be beautiful and rewarding. That definitely stands true for these two adorable siblings.
As the video begins, we meet little Remi. The 8-month old is crawling around in an adorable peach-colored flower and polka dot ensemble. You can tell that she is ready for her 3-year-old big brother Drew to wake up from his nap and play. She calls out to him, even attempting to say his name several times, then crawls toward the couch.
Although she is focused on waking her brother from his nap on the couch, she is momentarily distracted by a bag of items at the foot of the couch, which mom promptly removes. When she turns to look at her mother, Remi’s smile is contagious. Clearly a happy, teething baby, she is all smiles and doesn’t need any prompting to go up to her brother and grab his hand as it dangles from the couch, dragging a book along with her.
When touching his hand doesn’t work, Remi pulls herself up to stand in front of him and touches his face. Out like a light, Drew is clearly not responding to Remi’s attempts to rouse him from his slumber. Unsure, she glances back at mom for encouragement, then rededicates herself to the task.
At this point, she grabs Drew’s wrist and even coughs a little in his face as mom giggles quietly. Drew stirs but doesn’t wake so Remi touches his lips with her finger, speaking loudly to get his attention. He continues his slumber and Remi, unsure of what to do next, looks back to mom, who whispers, “Get him. Get Drew.”
This results in the 8-month-old bouncing a tiny bit and leaning forward to push her hand into her brother’s face. This doesn’t have the desired effect, but Remi isn’t one to give up easily. With mom’s encouragement, Remi continues her pursuit of waking up Drew from his nap.
She renews her efforts once again, pushing on Drew’s face and arms. Finally, the boy opens his eyes momentarily to see his baby sister and rolls over. She looks at her mom as if confused and mom whispers, “What happened? What happened to Drew?” It doesn’t take much provoking by mom for Remi to call out to her brother one last time.
This seems to do the trick and Drew finally rolls over to roll off the couch. Once he stands up, he leans over, hugs Remi, and gives her a kiss. It is an adorable moment that will absolutely melt your heart. Drew is clearly patient and loves his little sister, despite her waking him from his nap.
He doesn’t even seem to mind her baby drool and simply wipes it off of his face as he walks over to greet his mom. Remi is clearly quite pleased that her brother is awake and squawks loudly in happiness, knowing that she accomplished her feat.
